This Group Field Project (GFP) Report illustrates the business plan of a start-up company PT travoo.com. Travoo will serve as an online travel agent. Its www.travoo.com website will enable online real-time reservation of travel services and products. Its scope of operation will focus on Asia Pacific countries with world travelers as customers.

The plan to start the company began as a GFP, which was required by IPMI for completion of its MM/MBA program. The GFP Group 2 was formed with the six members determined to have a project which is worth continuing as a real business after the completion of the course. We were all interested in e-commerce believing that the digital revolution will change the way we live and conduct business. We also wanted to do a business which can make a positive contribution to Indonesia.

Attending a seminar on e-commerce, through networking we were fortunate to get acquainted with PT Jati Piranti Solusindo (Jatis), an Enterprise Integration Consulting firm. Jatis has experiences in e-commerce company operation and application. Jatis agreed to be our sponsoring company in a project to study the feasibility of an online travel agent site in Indonesia. Mr. Rudy Susilo, Head of Business Development, represented Jatis in guiding the group with inputs in what will make an Internet company works and its start-up process.

The Project kicked off with the study of the travel industry for both online and offline. Firstly, we inquired travel insiders to get insight of the industry practices. Then members browsed through some successful e-travel sites to find out about the business model and what features are sought out by customers and would bring visitors to the site and transact.

Then based on data from Word Tourism Organization, Indonesian Depparpostel, and various other sources, we learned about the tourism market focusing mainly in Indonesia and the Asia Pacific region as travel destinations.

Furthermore, the Group held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with travelers and travel industry insiders to find out about their awareness and perception of online travel sites.

Based on these studies and researches, we examined if our plan for travoo was sound by performing SWOT and Porter's Five Forces Industry analysis. The analysis indicated that the new business is favorable while acknowledging the weaknesses and the potential threats that Travoo possessed.
