Sustainable practices and company performance in restaurant business at PT XYZ: the moderating role of supply chain visibility (Mix Method -Scientific Research)

The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of sustainable practices on company's performance in restaurant business with supply chain visibility as moderating variable. The population of this research were restaurant managers at PT XYZ which operates 204 restaurants in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi (JABODETABEK). Sampling was conducted using a purposive technique through a questionnaire method as an opinion of primary data. The study collected responses from 102 out of the 204 restaurants. The data were analyzed using path analysis with partial least square method of structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). The results showed that sustainable practices (procurement and manufacturing) have positive impact on company's performance. Meanwhile, the interaction lead towards moderation effect of supply chain visibility and sustainable practices (procurement and manufacturing) on company's perfomance was not proven. This study has raised recommendations not only for further research, but also for managerial level to carry out what should be done by the company when implementing sustainable practices to improve company's performance as well as to mitigate risks related to environmental impacts.
