Human resource management (HRM) is needed to transform digitally as the new normal in the corporate business world. Organizations need to find new ways to streamline and support their human resources management processes, Manage employees, and enable leaders to make smarter decisions related to Human Resources Management frameworks through digital technology.
The transformation is expected to have an impact in at least four human resources management aspects, such as : recruitment, training, performance and compensation management. The improvements are measured in three key performance indicators, those are : effectiveness, efficiency and flexibility.
The implementation strategy is also critical to align with the readiness of employees in each country to face automated digital change is limited. The population of this research is employees in Indonesia who are expected to represent Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines and Thailand as part of developing southeast Asian countries that still have cultural and digital skills challenges. This research using a qualitative analysis was carried out using a series of focus group discussion (FGD) and In-Depth Interview (IDI) processes that involved human resources digitalization experts in the company. FGD were conducted with employees directly related to digital HRM, key users in selected functions and those responsible for selected projects. A theoretical framework is concluded from a literature review related to the HRM digitalization process.
Finally, it was found that the overall stage of digitalization of HR is bringing the positive impact that is said in theretical literature. From four HR aspects all three KPI showed positive improvement. But some areas that still need more attention are implementation strategy, from people awareness preparation to change management. That will be the lesson learned to the company for further implementation strategy of e-Human resource management in the rest of ongoing areas. This study could spin-off various future researches such as design and implementation of integrated e-HRM in wider scope of industries and other HR aspects.
