In Indonesia, subsidies play a crucial role in shaping economic policies, particularly in the energy sector overseen by pertamina. However, the rise in fuel subsidies presents a multifaceted challenge, impacting various sectors, notably marine fisheries. This study employs qualitative methods and grounded theory to analyze the implications of fuel price policies. The findings reveal a significant reduction in subsidies, exacerbating operational costs for marine fisheries and leading to decreased productivity. The resultant increase in fish prices could potentially contribute to inflationary pressures. As such, recommendations include differentiated pricing mechanisms for marine fisheries, ensuring subsidies reach the intended beneficiaries. Notably, PT Pertamina's initiative to establish pertashop for registered fishermen reflects a step towards targeted subsidy distribution. Furthermore, collaborative efforts between government and industry are imperative for mitigation strategies. Indonesian fisheries aims to optimize fishing areas and enhance downstream processing to bolster profitability amidst rising fuel costs. This study underscores the urgent need for coordinated action to safeguard the prosperity of Indonesia's marine fisheries amidst evolving subsidy dynamics.
