The Seventh Edition of Statistics for Management and Economics continues to provide a unified and streamlined treatment of statistics. Statistical inference is presented in the first chapter as the objective of statistics. The introduction to every subsequent chapter discusses the role of the new material
in mGking inferences and measuring their reliability.
Changes to this revision have two goals: to maintain quality and improve presentation. The Seventh Edition is written with the student in mind. Mendenhall, Reinmuth, and Beaver have improved presentation to aid in the understanding of statistics and its use in the managerial decision-making process. Following are some specific changes:
*Significantly expanded and updated exercises .New case studies in Chapters 9 and 14
*Expanded use of data from recently published articles in journals
and newspapers
*A new streamlined presentation of probability in Chapter 3
*Increased and updated computer output using EXECUSTAT, MINITAB, and Stat View software
The Student Edition of EXECUSTAT is available to students using this text. New version 3.0 is available Spring 1993.
