Pusat Pendidikan Komputer TRICOM is a computer educational service provider in Medan. TRICOM is considering to expand in Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Jabotabek) area, after more than twelve years operating in Medan with significant growth. According to the consideration, in our Group Field Project, we arrange the feasibility study of TRICOM expansion in Jabotabek.

First, we study the characteristics of the computer educational service industry, including the success factor and the growth since its inception in the early 1980's. Then we conduct a site visit to all locations of TRICOM in Medan, in order to know the structure, system, and process of the current operation. From the management explanation, we also know the vision, the credo, and the mission of TRICOM.

By conducting the site visit and having management discussion, we find out the competitive advantages of TRICOM in the industry. By comparing TRICOM operation in Medan to those of the industry in Jabotabek, we conclude that TRICOM has many competitive advantages to enter this market.

From our survey, we try to explore the possibility of expansion from the marketing point of view such as analyzing the market segment, market positioning, and marketing mix strategy. Besides that, we also try to analyse from the financial point of view such as calculating the break-even point, conducting capital budgeting, and sensitivity analysis.

Finally, from the above analyses, we conclude that our feasibility study of TRICOM expansion to Jabotabek is feasible, and especially about the choice of the location, we offer Depok and Grogol as the most suitable location.
