In this information technology era, knowledge is one important competitive advantage in any area of industries. This includes the engineering, procurement, and construction industry. Years of experience on creating project breakdown, cost estimation, and budgeting are indeed valuable. And IKPT, as one of senior company in EPC field, is aware about that fact.

They also aware that employee experience and knwoeldge about their part projects are need to be managed, since they must be able to respond quickly and accurately to a project bidding process, which need such data. Therefore, they try to build a database system (specifically a WBS database system) to help with the managing. This would allow their knowledge opf past project to be easily access by any employee. But after few years they manage to create archives for their past projects, the database results in half-functional.



"Half-functional database" is the problem that author tries to find solve out by doing the force field analysis on the implementationin order to seek problems and possible recommendation to aid it.
