PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (Persero) Tbk (PGN) is the market leader in term of
gas sales. Based on the 2015 financial report, PGN have 111.076 customers
consist of Power Plant, Industrial, Commercial, and Household. 96% PGN
Customers are household while less than 2% are Power plant and Industrial. But
although Power plant and Industrial only have the least in number but they
contribute 99% of PGN Profit. More specific, 17 Power plant give 40% profit for
PGN (324 BBTUD from 797 BBTUD total sales).
If we see it from the data of PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN), there are 31 6
Power plant that only 17 of it (5%) that use Natural Gas as fuel to produce
electricity. It means there are still 299 diesel power plant that have the opportunity
to convert into gas power plant.
299 diesel power plant produce at least 5 GW and need at least 1.000 BBTUD
means PGN have the opportunity to sell at least IDR 45 Trillion per year.
The fact that PLN have not use natural gas as fuel for their power plant even
though natural gas has a lot more strengths in price, quality, reliability and
environmentally friendly rather than diesel have to be observed deeply. Is it really
an opportunity for PGN? If it is an opportunity than if we don’t grab the
opportunity now, somebody will.
We do a lot of research and analysis from SWOT, financial analysis and also from
the customer (PLN) point of view for the better PGN with ElectriGas Group Field
Project.
