This preface provides a guide to the organization of the book and indicates how the text and cases can be integrated. Although the authors wish that every point in very chapter could be reflected in one of the associated cases, that is not possible without making the cases too large to be manageable. Hence, some of the topics covered in the cahpters are reinforced by questions and problems. The answers and solutions to these form the first of this Manual.
