Red Earth is an Australian brand personal care products with 14 different lines marketed worldwide. The products use natural ingredients and are aromatherapy based as part of the founder's consciousness on keeping healthy environment on earth.

Red Earth was introduced to Indonesia in 1995 as a result of franchising agreement between Red Earth Australia and PT. Kushendy Asri Busana. The first shop was opened in May 1995. Since then, several additional shops were opened to expand the distribution. PT. Kushendy Asri Busana also conducted the promotion activities to further drive the sales.

Sales volume for May 1995 up to November 1996 was 50 % below expectation and the image of products has not been well established. Therefore, it is essential to review the business especially in the marketing strategy which is viewed as the main factor that will determine the success 'of Red Earth's operation in Indonesia.
