In January 1996, once again Mr. J. McGoldrick the President Director of PT. Sepatu Bata assigned Mr. Yoesoef the Chief Chemist to be responsible for ISO 9000 project The ISO 9000 project have been tried in 1992 but due to several problems this project were postponed. After postponing ISO 9000 project, Mr. J. McGoldrick asked Yoesoef to be trained and active in IMPROVE which was an International Project of Bata Limited toward Total Quality Management Initially the IMPROVE project was succeed where it give good impact to the company, but at the san1e period PT. Sepatu Bata aggressively do export shoes where it really consume the most of Management time and priority. This priority reduce the momentum of IMPROVE gradually and the end it stopped naturally. Two years vacuum after IMPROVE project until January 1996 Mr. J. McGoldrick asked Mr. Yoesoef to start doing the ISO 9000 project again. Mr. Yoesoef can feel that some thing were wrong in Bata Management System which should be changed in order to be succeed in the second try of ISO 9000 project.
