OBJECTIVES: to study the market situation and to analyze the existing distribution systems of beverages industry in Jakarta area, in order to help PCIB to understand the market and the distribution systems in Jakarta area.



SCOPE OF STUDY



A. Distribution systems

To understand about distribution in beverages industry, we try to observe all channel/outlet of beverages industry, in order to have a real result, we did a several market observation in Jakarta, and we divided the channel in three categories.

1. Wholesaler

2. Agent

3. PK 5 & Warung

To observe the survey, we focus on several aspects that could represent the real situation in the market, such as:

- Pricing (buy and sell)

- Type of beverages

- Average buying

- Selling equipment

- Buying frequency

In order to represent the market situation of the whole Jakarta, so we divided Jakarta into 5 areas of observation:

? Central Jakarta

? North Jakarta

? West Jakarta

? South Jakarta

? East Jakarta



B. Distribution cost analysis

In distribution cost analysis we examine the whole distribution cost that charged PCIB start from buying fleet (truck), up to the delivery of PCIB products from manufacture through the distribution channel.

In this analysis we calculate the distribution cost that happened in each channel of distribution such as:

1. Direct selling

2. Agent

3. Wholesaller
