OBJECTIVES:

To study the possibilities of improving the infrastructure for Future Distribution Network 1993 -1997. This includes Warehouse locations, Size of each Warehouse and The Routes Management. This study extends into The Computation of Fleet Size, and The Type of Truck most suitable for the implementation for each warehouse. The geographic area covered is limited to Jakarta and parts of Botabek plus Karawang and Purwakarta.

SCOPE OF WORK:

Data were collected from each warehouse, B.P.S and studies about carbonated soft drink industry. The primary source of information was from Pepsi Cola International (PCI). The study has been given liberal movements, that it assumes PCI will use it as Zero Based Point. Several aspects that contributed for the success of Pepsi Cola were excluded, particularly advertisement/promotion, product improvement and pricing strategy. The recommendation may not be justifiable from a cost-benefit point-of-view, because the costs of future warehouse relocation and fleet up sizing are not included.
