This Group Field Project is an assessment of current marketing strategy of product penetration and development of TRG WiMax in Indonesia, and focus on marketing mix.

An information technology development nowadays is advancing as the growing demand for information fulfillment. The expansion technology started by telephone with wire line era, and then mobile era with GSM and CDMA, continued by mobile internet with 3G and 3.5G, and now the WiMax, BWA and LTE era that provides customer in using internet with huge data transfer.

TRG Wimax is one of the established companies within the respective industry; therefore TRG WiMax seeks the best marketing strategy to be implemented in the business process today and in the future. The Progressive Consulting tries to mediate the needs by conducting a market research to study and analyze about the competition and opportunities.

WiMax, which stand for World Interoperability for Microwave Access, is a radio technology optimized to support broadband data access networks as required, for example, for "last mile" access to the internet from homes or offices. It currently supports data rates of up to 75Mbit/s (in practice rates are around 10Mbit/s). The long term goal is to achieve data rates of up to 1 Gbit/s.

WiMax essentially addresses two very distinct markets. The first is the relatively low cost provision of broadband Internet access to rural and lesser developed regions. The second is the creation of next generation high-speed mobile data networks.

The Group Field Project is created to lead in the development, dissemation, and implementation of marketing concepts, practice, and information for the betterment of TRG WiMax. This Group Field Project is recommended for our collegues who interested in exposure about the right marketing strategy in the information technology industry.
