Bumi Resources Group (the company) is considered as the largest export coalmine in the world. It has two subsidiaries companies : BUMI Resources (coal) and BUMI Resources Mineral (non-coal). In spite of very challenging operating condition due to prolonged rainfalls during the year, the Company was able to deliver a 3.9% increase in sales volume by end of 2010, reaching 60.7 million tons from 58.4 million tons a year earlier.

An increase in production to 111 miliion tons per year has become target for 2012 and the expansion to non-coal mining will continue to be implemented as a part of the Company's strategy to enhance busines to provide maximum returns to the investors.



To support target achievement above, one of its initiatives is to continue its Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) implementation improvement, which has been started in 2008. The objective of the implementtaion of ERM systems is to enable the Company to recognize and manager risks by establishing a risk management system. It will enhance the risk governance practices and structures. Ultimately, a sound of risk oversigh and management system wil lead the Company to be better able to achieve its objective of adding value to the stakeholders.
