Data collection, for this report, began in the month of February 1989 and was completed by the end of June 1989. A major source of data was a consumer survey conducted in cooperation with PT Buana Cipta Production, a market research company. This survey was conducted with an aim to find out more about the customers' attitude towards rust protection.



Other sources of data were the company's sales records, government agencies like BPS (Central Bureau of Statistics), Gaikindo (Association of Car Manufacturers of Indonesia).



Data was also collected from some car dealers, other rust protection companies and some personal interviews with some concerned people.

The study group received full cooperation from PT Kalacakra, in all respects. All company records were made available. Meetings were held frequently between the company and the group, to apprise each other of the developments on either side.



Data collected from all the above-mentioned sources has been analyzed and strategy recommendations made accordingly. The data collection method, the data collected, the data analysis and recommendations are all presented in the following report.
